WHAT IT IS

The Marginal Changemakers is a cohort of marginalised young people aged 14-25 who are committed to making positive changes within publishing and media.

The Changemakers Inclusion Charter is the result of several months of learning and reflecting on the barriers within publishing for marginalised communities. The Charter focuses on issues of transparency, accessibility and inclusion in publishing. You can read it below!

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT

This Inclusion Charter is something we feel very passionately about! The 2022 UK Publishing Workforce survey found that  83% of publishing workers in the UK are white, 85% are straight, 99% are cis, 84% are able-bodied and 66%  are from a professional background. We urge publishers to take a positive stand for accessibility and inclusion within publishing and to adopt the below Charter.
